This will be the 4th time Steve Tootell has shown at Gallery St. Ives, Setagaya. This Gallery in the heart of Tokyo specializes in showing British Potters and particularly slipware potters. For this reason Steve has created a new series of slip ware pieces as an addition to work from his several other kilns in Uk and Japan. Steve currently has Gallery exhibitions in Washington, U.S.A. Cumbria, Hampshire and Yorkshire ,U.K. and is looking forward to another exhibition in Tokyo May 2015 - another chance to develop the slipware even further. He has created two types of slipware : Peacock Feathered Ware and Tiger Slipare with decoration done at the wet making stages and then adding a series of transluscent glazes including a newly developed speckled honey glaze at cone 6 temperature....must see the making video: http://vimeo.com/118773863
